Le Babbler is a laid-back red wine from Bordeaux, France, a notoriously not laid-back wine region exporting some of the finest, most sought after wines in the world. The wine comes from Château Lauduc, which is owned by the Grandeau family for four generations and is a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.

Naming

Choosing a $16 bottle of wine should be a fun process.

In developing a name for this new cuvée from Château Lauduc, we had a few primary goals. We wanted a name atypical to 99% of Bordeaux wine names. Translation: fun. Next, we wanted a name that was approachable to everyone, but especially Gen Z and millennials—the largest growing consumer demographic of wine drinkers.
Lastly, we wanted to make sure the name lent itself to a creative label design.

The result: Le Babbler. A playful Anglo-French crossover. A blend, just like the wine itself, evoking feelings of sitting around with friends, laughing and chopping it up. Cherishing the moment over a bottle of wine.
